This is a super simple Easter or spring art project kids can do that looks fantastic, encourages creativity and scales to different ages.  Using tissue paper squares and Mod Podge or white glue you paint the paper to the eggs and create a layered look that is colorful with each egg having a unique look and color combination.

The eggs can be styrofoam or plastic and can be picked up at the local art store or dollar store.  If you’re really adventurous you can use real eggs and blow out the raw egg inside but I wouldn’t recommend that with young kids or it might be really frustrating when they break.

Supplies

• styrofoam or plastic eggs
• colored tissue paper
• Mod Podge or white glue
• paint brushes
• glitter glue, sequins, stick on gems, stickers

The steps are super easy just have the kids hold the egg as they add a small amount of glue to the egg.  Add the tissue paper to the glued section then paint on a layer of glue and add the next piece of tissue paper.  Keep working your way around the egg. If your hands get sticky add a dry piece of tissue paper to the top and bottom while you work your way around the middle of the egg.

Once the entire egg is covered with layers of tissue paper set it down to dry.  You can choose to be done after step one or if you’d like to accessorize the eggs, once dry add sequins, stick on gems or glitter glue. Voila! Beautiful Easter eggs! The entire process can be done in about an hour and clean up is simple.
