These top math apps featured are fun, engaging and recommended by school resource teachers. At our school we are deep into math this month so the featured apps focus in on this area.

Even children who are good at math can challenge themselves by selecting more advanced levels or if your child is having trouble in certain areas focus on those and make it fun with a game.  Best of all you can let you child work alone or work you can with them or try a bit of both!

Great math apps

Math Evolve, a fun math game, is the winner of the best Educational Game of 2011 as well as winner of Best App Ever and has almost 6 million likes on Facebook! This fun math app is available for Android and Apple devices. Price: $1.99

Splash Math by Study Pad Inc, for Grades K through 5 – Challenge your child with new math skills and give them a heads up on what’s to come or practice skills they need extra time perfecting. Set up like a video game there are points earned that help build up a custom aquarium including earning points to feed the fish.

Tell Time – Little Matchups Game by Grasshopper Apps is a great tool to teach kids how to tell time. The app even covers telling time in digital to analog which is on our list to master.

Everyday Mathematics® Beat the Computer™ Multiplication by McGraw-Hill is a super simple tool to test multiplication skills. Great if you have two kids and you’re looking to teach one child and test the other  – pass this app to one child to review and hone their skills while mommy multitasking with the other.  McGraw-Hill has many more apps available as well. Price: $1.99
