I like to see creative choices or games that encourage social interactions an maybe a little fun imagination. This year I wasn’t dissapointed in their selections which are fun, social and sharable.  I also have a few selections for quiet time.

Books for Cat Lovers

I’m pretty sure my daughter was a cat at one point, she LOVES everything cats and would prefer to be one over anything else. Since becoming a cat isn’t an option, she dives into cat stories and soaks up as much as she can. We found a fantastic series called “Warriors” by Erin Hunter that gives cat enthusiast enough material to keep them reading all summer. My daughter was reading a book every 2 days!

There are quite a few books in the series so we had a good few months of reading. It’s a great series for a summer reading list. Find the entire collection at Amazon, the boxed sets are a great value.

Crayola Melt’n Mold Factory

Crayola Melt’n Mold Factory is the top item on my 9 year old daughter’s list this year. The Melt’n Mold part is creating custom crayons of any color combination. Griffen Crayola Headphones

The Griffen crayola headphones below are great headphones for kids that caps the audio at 85 db. They come with stickers so each pair is unique to the owner. Great for siblings since they can be custom to each kid and also great for quiet time. They come in pink or blue, the price is around $20 per pair.

Apple to Apples

Apple to Apples card game is a fun way for a group of kids to have fun.  Compare your selection of cards to the leader’s card and try to match apples to apples as best you can. Funny results come up and the group has a great laugh. Perfect for tweens to have a fun safe way to socially connect with their peer group and build friendships.  My daughter loves to play this at school at lunch and it’s all the rage.

Minecraft fans

A blast from the past is the Spirograph Design Set from when I was a kid. I spent hours creating new designs and my kids love the idea of making designs of their own.
